Not sure why, but I have found that I love making wreathes lately. I find them so fun, colorful, and they really let me be creative. It probably has something to do with the fact that you can change them out so often. Seasons, holidays, moods. . . </div>
<div align="center">
So with that, I made a few wreathes for other people lately.</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
My sister just had her third son. She runs a yarn business and nicknames all of her kids on-line. The newest one, she nicknamed Tiny Lime.</div>

<br />
<div align="center">
When we went to visit her and her new baby, we decided to make her a wreathe to celebrate the new baby. I found some lime green duct tape at the store and drew little limes all over the wreathe with a sharpie. Then we found some fun, bright colored flowers to glue on, and made some ribbon loops with bright yellow ribbon to finish it off. </div>
<div align="center">

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
My husband's cousin had a wedding shower the same weekend that we went to visit my sister, so I just kept on with the duct tape theme. The invitations to the shower each included an occupation for each couple to be inspired by. We were the movie theatre owners.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div align="center">
We had a gag gift, an ugly old chair, that is now being passed around my husband's family and we used this to decorate it. Using duct tape, we tried to follow the movie clapboard theme. We added flowers to add a bit of color and pattern with the plaid, and since we were decorating a chair, we included the Best Seat in the House title. </div>

My husband and I love to go to the movies and we always save the movie tickets and then they just kick around the house until they get lost, crumpled, or thrown away. So, we decided to make a movie box.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhel4tFgJcnmJhBMr9MxvHpdsuf0vBeWEUmZ_T02DXVCh8IAbunQkFCUP_I20TUSSpza58CtUIG-qTsSZk16UbO4Oo6_FEmMlDa3sFE1aXaPagQ-OC0bmoRaTAdxd0WG1mQdt63QFkmgo8/s1600/IMG_0160.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhel4tFgJcnmJhBMr9MxvHpdsuf0vBeWEUmZ_T02DXVCh8IAbunQkFCUP_I20TUSSpza58CtUIG-qTsSZk16UbO4Oo6_FEmMlDa3sFE1aXaPagQ-OC0bmoRaTAdxd0WG1mQdt63QFkmgo8/s320/IMG_0160.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this cute suitcase at our local craft store a few months ago and decided to make it look like a movie clapboard.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8VfJYtLsq7MA2Dik1LjcOlrbfAJaxDPiBdRJd5zgROg2DjO6mF1u58uX1rnaZG3kceU5WVk8DRiRbziR8rfKCApRxb5wq8fnIfcGHzfbEanzKN9wuvNhf6sY5apjBukjh349wP5qxCI8/s1600/IMG_0161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8VfJYtLsq7MA2Dik1LjcOlrbfAJaxDPiBdRJd5zgROg2DjO6mF1u58uX1rnaZG3kceU5WVk8DRiRbziR8rfKCApRxb5wq8fnIfcGHzfbEanzKN9wuvNhf6sY5apjBukjh349wP5qxCI8/s320/IMG_0161.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I taped off the lines and the squares on the front, and painted the rest black.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVLV58tc-KNEY0t9VoUjzqOS-3G19fOge7gAJLo6aurMqpF9TbET_sFa2S-ExZ55GC33OfSOznYIrr9i0LRvdeflgjBi2KqRE7wltBCfBrWhIlBtnskM-Hj7JU3sr4UMcmtPPekzxnJGM/s1600/IMG_0162.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVLV58tc-KNEY0t9VoUjzqOS-3G19fOge7gAJLo6aurMqpF9TbET_sFa2S-ExZ55GC33OfSOznYIrr9i0LRvdeflgjBi2KqRE7wltBCfBrWhIlBtnskM-Hj7JU3sr4UMcmtPPekzxnJGM/s320/IMG_0162.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now we have a cute place to store all of our tickets and memorabilia!</div>

Finally!In Idaho, Spring has seemed to take a very long time to come, so when the sun started to peek out and the snow started melting, I got in the crafting mood. This wreathe started out when I found this adorable green burlap ribbon. I felt like twine was the perfect thing to accompany it. As I was doing a search for twine, my husband and I came upon this raspberry raffia in the clearance section, an obvious buy. I wrapped the wreathe in twine and wrapped the raffia loosely to add some color all around. I found this cute blue button and painted the bird and flower to match. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUXeXqgbD9zBgFazzD8O9B6HdkhX0mnUoQVNRSCAN3TfujKjcG3_Om638DkDDf4jQL71rn_ikM-9fFS3bzTypvq0euMA9KWVo6K7YXz2PevERmw1emg3TjzPCk7jXNb7h3Lti_URz3i2s/s1600/IMG_0144.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUXeXqgbD9zBgFazzD8O9B6HdkhX0mnUoQVNRSCAN3TfujKjcG3_Om638DkDDf4jQL71rn_ikM-9fFS3bzTypvq0euMA9KWVo6K7YXz2PevERmw1emg3TjzPCk7jXNb7h3Lti_URz3i2s/s320/IMG_0144.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
I think we've run out of places to hang crafts, so I've turned to doing wreathes because we have plenty of doors to hang them on. . . This one was very fun to make. I used the same burlap ribbon, but found this beautiful flower made out of wood at the craft store. I couldn't decide what else to do, and my husband suggested the tulle flowers. I'm very happy how this turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZEVfoOMWxrlXRGmcF01j-x7hLMFkOhKaC2YIcN9BurK8LBWENCabaJ48zNjpR2BgUQAzJ1ib2ZPjntYxSM4u6Z7OY2pCXkVR_ltfBwSBhK7Gh8UJq-r2h2ZtmVbLx__wx_N_-hYzOQHY/s1600/IMG_0150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZEVfoOMWxrlXRGmcF01j-x7hLMFkOhKaC2YIcN9BurK8LBWENCabaJ48zNjpR2BgUQAzJ1ib2ZPjntYxSM4u6Z7OY2pCXkVR_ltfBwSBhK7Gh8UJq-r2h2ZtmVbLx__wx_N_-hYzOQHY/s320/IMG_0150.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
I love to walk around craft stores, and luckily for me, I have an amazing husband who indulges me. . . I found this cute milk bottles at our local craft store for about $2 and had to have them. I hot glued some lace around the bottom part and. . . voila!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Some purple and white flowers completed this fun project for me.<br />

So, of course, I made some. I found this wreath on Pinterest, and absolutely loved how cute it is! I wrapped a Styrofoam wreath with a gray yarn, cut out hearts out of felt, and then crissed-crossed some yarn over top to give it the adorable argyle look. I love it!<br />

Another Pinterest idea I found. . . These hearts are just cardboard and then painted with ribbon glued to attach them. It was a fun project a co-worker and I worked on together. Very fun, colorful, and reminds me of conversation hearts we used to eat as kids. <br />

This was super simple but I love the idea of the alphabet being used in a fun way. <br />

Christmas is definately one of my favorite holidays! I love most everything about it, especially all the fun crafts I get to do! Thank goodness I have a very patient and understanding husband who puts up with all my craftiness, the need to watch extremely corny Christmas movies, and of course, turning up Christmas music very loud and singing along.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div align="center">
One of my crafts this year was my Christmas wreathe. The weather has been pretty wet and windy so we hung it up inside so it wouldn't get ruined. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxkX81jZvQVPxz0ef1b0JTHiARvRmH8h3QX3mUAdXjfV3shuZsi3qbPfHWBZftzwH_Wje5VLZ4GDpmOBHYAhGzNBadFOgaOcWmOKpl1op6DG4KUv9DRdUL03HVJixIeBjpNwDK9fEnCm8/s1600/IMG_0015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxkX81jZvQVPxz0ef1b0JTHiARvRmH8h3QX3mUAdXjfV3shuZsi3qbPfHWBZftzwH_Wje5VLZ4GDpmOBHYAhGzNBadFOgaOcWmOKpl1op6DG4KUv9DRdUL03HVJixIeBjpNwDK9fEnCm8/s320/IMG_0015.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
Last year, after Christmas, I went to JoAnns and scored on all the marked down Christmas decorations. A giant green bow, a garland of greenery, some sparkly holly berries, and some cute dark green, light green, and red polka dot ribbon. This is the result!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqOoG_wSsdqMTBAi5VL-g36wWIqCiM5AGOXXqXffRACYQ5Av6_k-5NkSk5f88jaAHyOHvmVdA7SfT7SpMp54fpIjw9vA3WYorZoWCUEmswEvyUlhJg3IDrMmp2_4Wp6KFiJq9bmhF5SOU/s1600/IMG_0016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqOoG_wSsdqMTBAi5VL-g36wWIqCiM5AGOXXqXffRACYQ5Av6_k-5NkSk5f88jaAHyOHvmVdA7SfT7SpMp54fpIjw9vA3WYorZoWCUEmswEvyUlhJg3IDrMmp2_4Wp6KFiJq9bmhF5SOU/s320/IMG_0016.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
At one of my favorite craft stores, I found these vases for super cheap. I added half a strand of red garland in each vase, some leftover red polka dot ribbon from another project, and a flameless candle from the dollar store. Super cheap and festive!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwojbcLzFRxlg-eC69her5lrpHl6LR-p-s18c0KgEhMZBsBr2AVdNfDjGLRcXQ8nX65s9QRlipfRVvnxiDaNGvJse5SgAj1A63epelkc0IVAsJJ81PUatomvJnfulYMxAFvxCwoqANKic/s1600/IMG_0019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwojbcLzFRxlg-eC69her5lrpHl6LR-p-s18c0KgEhMZBsBr2AVdNfDjGLRcXQ8nX65s9QRlipfRVvnxiDaNGvJse5SgAj1A63epelkc0IVAsJJ81PUatomvJnfulYMxAFvxCwoqANKic/s320/IMG_0019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
In the Fall, I used these jars and filled them partially full of unpopped popcorn kernels. Then I tied some cream, brown, and gold ribbon around the top for a very Autumn decoration.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzx2YYUwIErGOh6fabCD4vOsA8b8MiU5CBvMFQ6sIL-TkaGLoVXeAGHQz_SFc_8bP9oZlEzX1GvXK9knA4_Hnsq70aan4_k2guoI5EepJ4gWtJ1F42yUpBEdUCbrUfErVDuB3S9i7ZHws/s1600/IMG_0021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzx2YYUwIErGOh6fabCD4vOsA8b8MiU5CBvMFQ6sIL-TkaGLoVXeAGHQz_SFc_8bP9oZlEzX1GvXK9knA4_Hnsq70aan4_k2guoI5EepJ4gWtJ1F42yUpBEdUCbrUfErVDuB3S9i7ZHws/s320/IMG_0021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
I saw the idea for these vases online somewhere. I know the picture isn't great, but they're just plain dollar store vases and then I took an old sweater, cut off the sleeves, and glued the bottom so they wouldn't fray. Then just used some dollar store ornaments to finish them off.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6F_74Is9TYIHrerkUa4CJLdCdD2u46zBV_m11ewo47FMG3KPqoYTFvmuQcRvjP3yI5TUeOixRlqhW1ygle8ribRFFvPECxDQgklsoe34C3oPXlxB9dkmeyADCK4iZosODgCh0h_Bl6Jo/s1600/IMG_0025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6F_74Is9TYIHrerkUa4CJLdCdD2u46zBV_m11ewo47FMG3KPqoYTFvmuQcRvjP3yI5TUeOixRlqhW1ygle8ribRFFvPECxDQgklsoe34C3oPXlxB9dkmeyADCK4iZosODgCh0h_Bl6Jo/s320/IMG_0025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
This was a super easy and inexpensive wreathe. I bought three, six pack sets of snowflake from the dollar store. Then I laid eight out in a circle and took another eight and hot glued them on top, between each of the bottom snowflakes. Tie on some ribbon and that was it. Easy, cute, and sparkly. :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIr8qfaaeWY7zw8k74wkZUlF7ny6lXy-NW9mFFBtpHcdVOHTu4VlgoNWbHt3HHpwCuM5DnC321lnZj7mFJcNOunjn_PXt1ZyYzaYf8_rYw49uu142ckP4tljj4MCponumAySiTqVNAiOY/s1600/IMG_0027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIr8qfaaeWY7zw8k74wkZUlF7ny6lXy-NW9mFFBtpHcdVOHTu4VlgoNWbHt3HHpwCuM5DnC321lnZj7mFJcNOunjn_PXt1ZyYzaYf8_rYw49uu142ckP4tljj4MCponumAySiTqVNAiOY/s320/IMG_0027.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<div align="center">
This isn't really a Christmas craft, but I made this fairly recently. I found a clearance frame and put some scrapbook paper on the pack with little strips of paper sectioning it off. Then some sticker letters were added and a bow made. I found I was always too tired from work to try to figure out what to make for dinner, but if we have it planned out, I can get dinner made much more easily. So we just try to plan out our dinners for the week, do our grocery shopping, and we're not eating out nearly as much. I love the way it turned out and it makes life so much simpler for me.</div>

It's so easy. Take some canvas and draw on it with glue making a thick line to create whatever design you want.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhxeQl1_f1TuFGiobvyRLeBsfgdN_zmWaUiEb7_4fn6axjg_wr6jQDy8upl0C1OUWA6trcsb44HpjsXp0HJE5044VlMGpJx8aAfLZBRUaZ5n8GOAy3_kw-cttbGQENlbYFc6zuwUzr_SU/s1600/PICT1746.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhxeQl1_f1TuFGiobvyRLeBsfgdN_zmWaUiEb7_4fn6axjg_wr6jQDy8upl0C1OUWA6trcsb44HpjsXp0HJE5044VlMGpJx8aAfLZBRUaZ5n8GOAy3_kw-cttbGQENlbYFc6zuwUzr_SU/s320/PICT1746.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center">Let the glue dry. When it's dried, paint over the canvas and glue, all in one color. You're left with a very monochromatic work of art. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX5Lvuppo2oZ9sZaSpRUrCiZrmiFYn5gSxwJrt7LaWPDtKMp811A2TDXQ7SECKXVxQItbl6i173PxmcZ7ZCgu-0Vhfiugiw_JZyD2eFGG74gh_zvWN0LjKdrGvoqRH2aPGBfotTz46S_s/s1600/PICT1749.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX5Lvuppo2oZ9sZaSpRUrCiZrmiFYn5gSxwJrt7LaWPDtKMp811A2TDXQ7SECKXVxQItbl6i173PxmcZ7ZCgu-0Vhfiugiw_JZyD2eFGG74gh_zvWN0LjKdrGvoqRH2aPGBfotTz46S_s/s320/PICT1749.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div align="center"></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714099755421713903.post-21053495848886384002011-11-11T07:24:00.000-07:002011-11-11T07:24:16.637-07:00Mark the Date<div align="center">One of the projects I did was a calendar. I had a cheap white board one, but I could never get anything to erase from it. So, I was out shopping and found this large, square, metal sheet in a frame that was meant to be a white board. On clearance for cheap, I bought it even though it didn't match my style. I found at one of my craft stores, a clear, plastic write on calendar. Using paper I covered the metal and then glued the calendar on top. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIYIXDRCcZK3HAdvZU3IwJ2YufdmjUGlwUlx1dBSvKEhIoK3XA5l7XOFQtSUongieBn09_bhtYe2gxqQ4zdtt6l8nSy8IklQeZeo775PpnQeYYqep2PizfecCYBPBytjE2ZAjVHr2a35E/s1600/PICT1736.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIYIXDRCcZK3HAdvZU3IwJ2YufdmjUGlwUlx1dBSvKEhIoK3XA5l7XOFQtSUongieBn09_bhtYe2gxqQ4zdtt6l8nSy8IklQeZeo775PpnQeYYqep2PizfecCYBPBytjE2ZAjVHr2a35E/s320/PICT1736.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center">I also made some magnets to match from some extra paper and glass. After finishing this, I went to find my whiteboard markers and realized how many I have. So, I made a bag out of some left over fabric. And here's the end product!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXty3-LNfzQl71C-iv-1NVvnfzFMWq4N3bzNyY7OL7sdZPtEPK0PFvya1caE7HxNH6sv8YtHGsfK_aQt86EV_VXDu7tscTDhdQx_zdEV6PRztD1XZtWOVl-kRpc5FZr683NTZIQd5-6Jc/s1600/PICT1735.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXty3-LNfzQl71C-iv-1NVvnfzFMWq4N3bzNyY7OL7sdZPtEPK0PFvya1caE7HxNH6sv8YtHGsfK_aQt86EV_VXDu7tscTDhdQx_zdEV6PRztD1XZtWOVl-kRpc5FZr683NTZIQd5-6Jc/s320/PICT1735.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div align="center"></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714099755421713903.post-24140542993255987192011-11-10T07:32:00.002-07:002011-11-10T07:32:30.717-07:00Back to School<div align="center">I first saw this in my cousin's apartment and then shortly after, a good friend of mine did one. I love that even though they are the same concept, everyone's turn out differently. . . and who doesn't love playing with wax! :)</div><div align="center"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijVcIcHedjn3GdvCLsNv7S1MP8i6jzmFWM4rSBNQ72E39mC-lwWs08DYk95KGGw-5pvfA9d0w_NPeeqAKd9gbaQTkj0idEnWfl3Ddq4_cLhdylFS5VB_07oGcY5hKaplVcSVI0VluyXv4/s1600/PICT1741.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijVcIcHedjn3GdvCLsNv7S1MP8i6jzmFWM4rSBNQ72E39mC-lwWs08DYk95KGGw-5pvfA9d0w_NPeeqAKd9gbaQTkj0idEnWfl3Ddq4_cLhdylFS5VB_07oGcY5hKaplVcSVI0VluyXv4/s320/PICT1741.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The end product. All you do is glue the crayons to the top of the canvas, then I used a blow dryer to melt them and let them drip and splatter. I really like the splatter at the bottom, so I didn't make it drip down too far. A tip though for anyone wanting to do this project, lots of newspaper. . . you'd be surprised how far the crayon splatters can go.</div><div align="center"></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714099755421713903.post-60995171540102200022011-11-09T22:54:00.000-07:002011-11-09T22:54:34.827-07:00I Love To See The Temple<div style="text-align: center;">I was at Michael's about a month ago and found these simple black frames in the clearance section for $1.50. I thought I could come up with something to do with them so I grabbed 3 and when I went to check out, they rang up for a penny each! Score!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUc8qcKtblO9gevNS9B9Re-2mUArFhe-75VsDbj3GajGW62DbYaWhZQLM4ei46bXrmGOb5cSxHtiPFLpJjMjZ4rGcqmryryURb8FjzinyjV4ky6cO21nz5mNysU1J2z7Yk2uIhJ8umhIE/s1600/PICT1738.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUc8qcKtblO9gevNS9B9Re-2mUArFhe-75VsDbj3GajGW62DbYaWhZQLM4ei46bXrmGOb5cSxHtiPFLpJjMjZ4rGcqmryryURb8FjzinyjV4ky6cO21nz5mNysU1J2z7Yk2uIhJ8umhIE/s320/PICT1738.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center">The tricky part for me was figuring out what to put in the frames and what to do with the very plain white matting. As I was looking through my pictures, I found some that I really liked of the Salt Lake and Las Vegas temples I took back in April. </div><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">An hour later and a quick trip to walmart and I had my pictures. Of course my indecisive self took forever to decide what to do with the matting. I wanted something that would add to the pictures and not take away from the focus.</div><br />

Some acrylic paint and masking tape served the purpose very well. Lucky for me, it ended up being an extremely inexpensive project.</div><br />

<div align="center">It started with just necklaces. I took a piece of canvas and covered it in a green polka dot fabric. I also covered a small metal sheet with some fabric and glued it onto the canvas. I thought I could use it to leave notes or thoughts on there. I then screwed in hooks on the bottom of the canvas. (Just a tip, use a drill to make the holes! I spent way too long and got way too many blisters trying to screw them in by hand.)</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii41wPoXDjZZrMvZQU5BZ6mLqj3flKSwfZYusc2n9zyaXdOeWLD5kAdX2CKK6GmnUNPHm3gLGF1ALKcRHgYP-AApQXoQWQ2-WOugIUbhPk2Z8nCoNyX7nWgnBVt9HwPgEipov5DKvhqUM/s1600/PICT1750.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii41wPoXDjZZrMvZQU5BZ6mLqj3flKSwfZYusc2n9zyaXdOeWLD5kAdX2CKK6GmnUNPHm3gLGF1ALKcRHgYP-AApQXoQWQ2-WOugIUbhPk2Z8nCoNyX7nWgnBVt9HwPgEipov5DKvhqUM/s320/PICT1750.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I really liked it and realized that with the necklace issue fixed, I realized how hard it was to find my earings so I spent days trying to figure out how to organize them. Finally, this morning, I realized that some chains would work perfectly, a way to hook in the earings easily and be able to quickly remove them.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyUdgZ3rSRwIW1UGTBcRT7m7BnrnzClWlfXA4TZ63-YDztiudlaMZc0c1-wige8Gd6ukMsQIhXf2enJVMhHFO2olRFtnVV5_U4DNw0nU4iDDGDPRXVlCtg0wqIow18N6xG49HX_tNTdNc/s1600/PICT1751.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyUdgZ3rSRwIW1UGTBcRT7m7BnrnzClWlfXA4TZ63-YDztiudlaMZc0c1-wige8Gd6ukMsQIhXf2enJVMhHFO2olRFtnVV5_U4DNw0nU4iDDGDPRXVlCtg0wqIow18N6xG49HX_tNTdNc/s320/PICT1751.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That's it! I added some words to make it even more fun. Finally a cute solution to all my jewelry problems. </div><div align="center"></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714099755421713903.post-55928084376198110972011-11-06T23:28:00.001-07:002011-11-06T23:38:00.797-07:00The Witch's Hat<div style="text-align: center;">With Halloween coming up, I felt the need to create something from the up coming Holiday. So here's my attempt at a Halloween decoration. . . </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRlkqtKja0Lq4KZS29FUdkcUeBpCF5k9oJCHGzXR_g7SALYzeyziabJlXjamsjuP4gGsLqYl8u7wZNQxnFR7EJfTqDX1oxfhxdQ-XAW-JpoCpyglqsAb1wJoJxgJOmJgWilSqjSgjHu3g/s1600/PICT1728.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRlkqtKja0Lq4KZS29FUdkcUeBpCF5k9oJCHGzXR_g7SALYzeyziabJlXjamsjuP4gGsLqYl8u7wZNQxnFR7EJfTqDX1oxfhxdQ-XAW-JpoCpyglqsAb1wJoJxgJOmJgWilSqjSgjHu3g/s320/PICT1728.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center">I found, at one of my favorite craft stores, a cardboard witches hat form. I bought two sheets of scrapbook paper and ripped it into pieces and glued them on. A fancy design strip, complete with skulls, was needed to make it look a little more Halloweenish. . . Then I finished it off with some ribbon!</div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">A super fun and easy project!</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714099755421713903.post-75794150168064937172011-11-06T23:21:00.000-07:002011-11-06T23:21:12.520-07:00Autumn CraftsI've mostly posted edible creations so far, but I figure my crafts are pretty sweet creations too, so here you go! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHrkRmpZD-GpcJUJE8pB9X0SOk_tNcnNdkevzUElDuFiKPmk5rCz-hVK7aGw-ReP3FYo1o06bLUN0sdlPhch_gZm2ow8hNhfEZkhAJR3N9V7eWQYTeCRHspxkZEHxVQbjvLSrMkglgXhE/s1600/PICT1724.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHrkRmpZD-GpcJUJE8pB9X0SOk_tNcnNdkevzUElDuFiKPmk5rCz-hVK7aGw-ReP3FYo1o06bLUN0sdlPhch_gZm2ow8hNhfEZkhAJR3N9V7eWQYTeCRHspxkZEHxVQbjvLSrMkglgXhE/s320/PICT1724.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
A while ago I had Columbus day off and got into a crafty mood. One of the few things that I actually completed that day was my Autumn wreathe.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisho-ABF8NVN8V4lSZTSlGIsGIJV-u7J_xecEoK26yVqe3u3XusZD5MWCGeV4e3SSzLi5zk2AvklzlkbkaBbpBgBNSHyi4CkhlUCh0PlnqVn3HWhmQ3YCNE2fHtDAjvqWOVWGOsO1y5MU/s1600/PICT1725.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisho-ABF8NVN8V4lSZTSlGIsGIJV-u7J_xecEoK26yVqe3u3XusZD5MWCGeV4e3SSzLi5zk2AvklzlkbkaBbpBgBNSHyi4CkhlUCh0PlnqVn3HWhmQ3YCNE2fHtDAjvqWOVWGOsO1y5MU/s320/PICT1725.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I started with a metal wreathe frame, a leaf garland, some Autumn colored flowers, ribbon, and some wire. I also use some hot glue to attach everything and tada!<br />
<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Recently, a friend of mine got married. She asked me to be a bridesmaid and then a couple months later told me about her plans for a grooms cake. Her fiance/husband loves BYU sports, especially football. She was having the woman who was doing the wedding cake make a BYU football helmet and football. She thought that it would be really cool to have a football field to put them on and asked another bridesmaid and I to do it. So, here it is.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPWW6pyb3S3LKvZP4eCOZRC2Cq2VK1QNNJ5qBrJzbhIuldOMV9oDYySDPh10nhaftypy1xFxCU-mfelJlJUcXizvRiTDJablx4qoS0T9mBKyaTzngcnojvRdC3nTzmhCmImSDwxBzzCww/s1600/PICT1696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPWW6pyb3S3LKvZP4eCOZRC2Cq2VK1QNNJ5qBrJzbhIuldOMV9oDYySDPh10nhaftypy1xFxCU-mfelJlJUcXizvRiTDJablx4qoS0T9mBKyaTzngcnojvRdC3nTzmhCmImSDwxBzzCww/s320/PICT1696.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We ended up using rice crispy treats to make the cake. It's 12 inches by 18 inches, so it took alot of rice crispy treats. Since he does love BYU, I dyed the rice crispy treats blue. Then I covered them with buttercream to make it smooth. </div><br />
<br />
<div align="center"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRM6-63kt7gjrl0KG0MHDal9cytGWvfG8GYu5X6VHTA_zKVpOoUSVViKxWRSIpzNPBn3uvqKpFwHwChIaTjlWxVh77KJoezEA1cgeSF-p3vYnPuLnaWLVK-CWWTKz4b4YWoS0mmlbZAg0/s1600/PICT1697.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRM6-63kt7gjrl0KG0MHDal9cytGWvfG8GYu5X6VHTA_zKVpOoUSVViKxWRSIpzNPBn3uvqKpFwHwChIaTjlWxVh77KJoezEA1cgeSF-p3vYnPuLnaWLVK-CWWTKz4b4YWoS0mmlbZAg0/s320/PICT1697.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center"></div><div align="center">It is covered in green fondant that I made. I found some tiny cookie cutters to make all of the numbers and letters. The yard lines are piped on. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The center Y was made from a fondant oval, colored with edible marker and then a Y cut out and place on top. Finally, I edged the cake with green buttercream frosting piped on with a grass tip. The cake turned out great as did the wedding. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A couple weeks ago, I got bored after church and started baking. The first thing I made was butter bread. I got the recipe from a good friend back home and it is delicious!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjps1pMy-VnVR3IZG323tcUbqIed5zyZ_kKAes0Gzs7XBUoJ_OZ99k2KBaz4WXdxQa7gKkXhOLFGZXYXif3PvpR0LsX7UEqxpEVyVTs_OjzP4_stxTR8GFsBpO1OfMP0wqsv7zV_0eV-PQ/s1600/PICT1692.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjps1pMy-VnVR3IZG323tcUbqIed5zyZ_kKAes0Gzs7XBUoJ_OZ99k2KBaz4WXdxQa7gKkXhOLFGZXYXif3PvpR0LsX7UEqxpEVyVTs_OjzP4_stxTR8GFsBpO1OfMP0wqsv7zV_0eV-PQ/s320/PICT1692.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">As implied by its name, butter bread has lots of butter! Each segment is dipped in butter before it's baked. I love eating it with strawberry jam. . . :)</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg95G_sQrnqLvcT6CPcLF2wHfRqDDcJ5lZzzT_9GZFaL6u2Ow0yJPnr3K_hv3iNwJRmidhmi1cRvnfxGIJ3LdjlhT1FoQkVCo3DW0f0pmbSP_tcbiZ44NjA2Ef_3Iu8cBYV_vkD55JAHY4/s1600/PICT1694.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg95G_sQrnqLvcT6CPcLF2wHfRqDDcJ5lZzzT_9GZFaL6u2Ow0yJPnr3K_hv3iNwJRmidhmi1cRvnfxGIJ3LdjlhT1FoQkVCo3DW0f0pmbSP_tcbiZ44NjA2Ef_3Iu8cBYV_vkD55JAHY4/s320/PICT1694.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div align="center">I then continued my baking spree by making some cake. This is a chocolate fudge cake with a dulce de leche filling and then frosted with home made chocolate buttercream frosting. It was very tasty!</div><br />

I made all the parts and then had to send it with the bride's sister. I never actually saw it completely finished. There were a second set of pillars for between the top pillars, they were only three inch ones, but I don't know if they ever ended up using them. They were getting ready to cut into it, so the ribbon on the middle layer was already taken off.<br /><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3e4d9Fpy38m42CV2zVn2C2LWR2Ba4WDyvy5i5q7wHKJJJPW_wQ9oOd1WPcs5ts-DVMiSKLhEysVGuZ0h4Sf2jMFJQKRQk6w8LESD8-VfD7NrYRA3jP1TFzYxwjmS6RAUmPiITDkIgCWE/s1600/270355_10150226429061362_697136361_7555770_7558038_n.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 320px; height: 240px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633716210283423602" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3e4d9Fpy38m42CV2zVn2C2LWR2Ba4WDyvy5i5q7wHKJJJPW_wQ9oOd1WPcs5ts-DVMiSKLhEysVGuZ0h4Sf2jMFJQKRQk6w8LESD8-VfD7NrYRA3jP1TFzYxwjmS6RAUmPiITDkIgCWE/s320/270355_10150226429061362_697136361_7555770_7558038_n.jpg" /></a></div><div>The cake was three layers, with a fountain in between. Well the wedding is next week so I thought I should probably make a practice cake so she knows that I'm not completely incompetant. :)<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJWiEb9n7jGA5RXn7DBDUkSTgS4KuabD-Z6kLzYvQpAXv1fWUaPBEugtKgFNSmyYCQfEGuo_Z_9k9mUCHlMzZWqGX_9cUWe-i5wQVPTB4ILjfGUwOsoJjySb2p_NA96voA1zDOem8-xbU/s1600/PICT1685.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5605685901927550402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJWiEb9n7jGA5RXn7DBDUkSTgS4KuabD-Z6kLzYvQpAXv1fWUaPBEugtKgFNSmyYCQfEGuo_Z_9k9mUCHlMzZWqGX_9cUWe-i5wQVPTB4ILjfGUwOsoJjySb2p_NA96voA1zDOem8-xbU/s320/PICT1685.JPG" /></a><br />It's a pretty basic cake. This is mainly so she can try it and make sure that I understand what she wants. It's going to be three tiers with a fountain between the bottom and top two tiers. Since her colors are blue and green, we'll alternate ribbons on the tiers.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmHUMjdqHRFS5YFj-ihAZhRHZ5nj562Vgm8lW0pQsDIyUgUP1n7RBY-VkJWjnL8PX2kx6wIVQ84Xlaf6WkgpxgS0oADYJnaosNF4jbk5nQi6Cn1tCTHYnlepFXFpPKHSyJsScbNq4tJYo/s1600/PICT1684.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5605685895234811218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmHUMjdqHRFS5YFj-ihAZhRHZ5nj562Vgm8lW0pQsDIyUgUP1n7RBY-VkJWjnL8PX2kx6wIVQ84Xlaf6WkgpxgS0oADYJnaosNF4jbk5nQi6Cn1tCTHYnlepFXFpPKHSyJsScbNq4tJYo/s320/PICT1684.JPG" /></a><br />The bottom tier will be sixteen inches, then there will be the fountain with the clear pillars I found. The top tiers will be twelve inches and eight inches. If you look closely at the background, you can see the fountain in the background.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7mndtF4wVn5fvtODTssoAMoYHDLNtfkwiV1_KuoyeRtuU2xGIKZvLnxGuSlsVHY_9nie9AeT1r86RWCHRlefQ7PM67aam4aCuWUP9P2bCTnq83IfbdgliKt0isdD8GlAOpmmvypwve8I/s1600/PICT1683.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5605685890602144978" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7mndtF4wVn5fvtODTssoAMoYHDLNtfkwiV1_KuoyeRtuU2xGIKZvLnxGuSlsVHY_9nie9AeT1r86RWCHRlefQ7PM67aam4aCuWUP9P2bCTnq83IfbdgliKt0isdD8GlAOpmmvypwve8I/s320/PICT1683.JPG" /></a><br />We're doing carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I wanted something that reminded me of Fall without being too much on the Halloween side of Fall. It is a fudge chocolate cake, vanilla filled, and frosted in chocolate.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-ZaQS7ReLkFc3Uc_TLw6Bb5YlSrqNo1Y_BJVQ6HnaWMbgmzyzt2fr7VNFBVR7YouroB76AJbdJ7nosmZEpkohwGXT6pS52ibGUGMnm2katQHMbndLsxelFeys41UfTBXrd3pCFwEQlYI/s1600-h/PICT0670.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388961281819542626" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-ZaQS7ReLkFc3Uc_TLw6Bb5YlSrqNo1Y_BJVQ6HnaWMbgmzyzt2fr7VNFBVR7YouroB76AJbdJ7nosmZEpkohwGXT6pS52ibGUGMnm2katQHMbndLsxelFeys41UfTBXrd3pCFwEQlYI/s320/PICT0670.JPG" /></a> This was my first time working with the mini-pumpkins, and for the trials I did, I think they came out pretty well, and bring across the Fall theme very well.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAjx4yaTLfL_6iGGz5Sjc_ZTmbD4P5C9Gzur5jt2OeRNt6maoVBsoHbK4FKf7Lswlp84i3dErpRapaxwBLEAPgeBFfavK-jzrp0Dq3YSdpwbngUul2njrfwhZhTgQ-lU5RPeMearMLt_c/s1600-h/PICT0671.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388961270663412466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAjx4yaTLfL_6iGGz5Sjc_ZTmbD4P5C9Gzur5jt2OeRNt6maoVBsoHbK4FKf7Lswlp84i3dErpRapaxwBLEAPgeBFfavK-jzrp0Dq3YSdpwbngUul2njrfwhZhTgQ-lU5RPeMearMLt_c/s320/PICT0671.JPG" /></a></div><div>The leaves were made out of royal icing, and I tried to get some really great colors that remind me of Fall and the leaves falling from the trees. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAiWB6N__Ogt8Iyl1Qg1G4VlKc-tou6hqbm3u_eUP6DIyGuLW72MByb24XCSmtRZxJpmOKEqcdZXt32u5U688ziw-ZRIVOFweABWJdCARdqgvFKuecrTfWZpqgLp0el6PMqpnanOisYfw/s1600-h/PICT0672.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388961262798812034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAiWB6N__Ogt8Iyl1Qg1G4VlKc-tou6hqbm3u_eUP6DIyGuLW72MByb24XCSmtRZxJpmOKEqcdZXt32u5U688ziw-ZRIVOFweABWJdCARdqgvFKuecrTfWZpqgLp0el6PMqpnanOisYfw/s320/PICT0672.JPG" /></a><br />The sides of the cake were frosted in a basket weave style. In about April we were discussing their wedding plans, and Aunt Janet described what she wanted in a wedding cake. I told her that sounded pretty simple and she asked if I'd like to do the cake. The wedding was about four days after I got home from school, so it was a little crazy and I was very busy.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF0BuC9h79pOc-za3EHc-ICSq_ski67OVyY78TnmEC9o3HRcf4b80XKOYB1N2otRpNfBy5bXbEHHJJFKr_kll-OUVfi1fG6JpeioVjv2Xd6AWr2c5TJfuFbOLcRihfJ2o3vwFZry9089I/s1600-h/DSC00006.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380999620314257106" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF0BuC9h79pOc-za3EHc-ICSq_ski67OVyY78TnmEC9o3HRcf4b80XKOYB1N2otRpNfBy5bXbEHHJJFKr_kll-OUVfi1fG6JpeioVjv2Xd6AWr2c5TJfuFbOLcRihfJ2o3vwFZry9089I/s320/DSC00006.JPG" /></a> The cake was a three tiered white square cake. The top and bottom tier were filled with strawberry cream and the middle layer was a vanilla filling. The cakes were frosted with vanilla buttercream and then covered in a white fondant.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq4lVgB1qNvxJRNbghV3Hs73RfDx-ZbctKT5I4Zdco3haGd1NvafYx4bSWlfBUMBf_0HBeonZAWOJQLsOeOk89UIesjJDThwmD6NsYjkm50jc0TcrPHe4-bfmGIiT3b9lrhx2eXQfqdfE/s1600-h/DSC00042.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380999611190838258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq4lVgB1qNvxJRNbghV3Hs73RfDx-ZbctKT5I4Zdco3haGd1NvafYx4bSWlfBUMBf_0HBeonZAWOJQLsOeOk89UIesjJDThwmD6NsYjkm50jc0TcrPHe4-bfmGIiT3b9lrhx2eXQfqdfE/s320/DSC00042.JPG" /></a> On top, we did evenly spaced dots in sets of three and green ribbon around each layer. Finally we placed a small arrangement of white roses on top. I really liked how smooth the fondant turned out and the dots were nice and even. </div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714099755421713903.post-75660183303282286432009-09-11T21:28:00.005-06:002009-10-03T11:58:21.615-06:00Camoflauge Hunter CakeThis cake was made as a birthday present for my brother-in-law whose birthday happens to land on the fourth of July. It is a four layer cake, one for the trunk and the other three make up the rest of the tree. </div><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCb1BqsMauQmkUsGDXVtvjXZYIhlEQqvdCQHgnTQFKtFnidkkS6FOUk5VYBhoamxEj4wcWBiMoOTPIoLPp5wqZcqzf-Nhc16_739124hZkZg_Cxmc4CyUzsvg60wQuI_5Y_tOZorfp3Ns/s1600-h/PICT0544.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378574033138958050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCb1BqsMauQmkUsGDXVtvjXZYIhlEQqvdCQHgnTQFKtFnidkkS6FOUk5VYBhoamxEj4wcWBiMoOTPIoLPp5wqZcqzf-Nhc16_739124hZkZg_Cxmc4CyUzsvg60wQuI_5Y_tOZorfp3Ns/s320/PICT0544.JPG" /></a> In this cake I used all the different mediums that we worked with during our class. The trunk, border of the tree skirt, garlands, and texture on the angel's dress were buttercream. Most of the angel and the tree skirt were made from fondant. All of the needles, bows, snoflakes, and the angel's wings were made from royal icing.<br /><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuLLMlu6oW_TD79QqB9RbZBW9j-LtuD8G6sAWyQI0xuPpBZU9CNUvhVV4efs646CavaD8yBlJGSTnNXbGFw6WrRrb9jLJzRSCRedbsoh5lB1ALnE91Qpnm0-eegZxe94aECK1KKyT2N_A/s1600-h/PICT0542.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378574016854378258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuLLMlu6oW_TD79QqB9RbZBW9j-LtuD8G6sAWyQI0xuPpBZU9CNUvhVV4efs646CavaD8yBlJGSTnNXbGFw6WrRrb9jLJzRSCRedbsoh5lB1ALnE91Qpnm0-eegZxe94aECK1KKyT2N_A/s320/PICT0542.JPG" /></a> And here is the final product. My design was inspired by the fact that I was missing the Washington rain, so I tried to make it look as though rain drops were falling on my cake. It was a chocolate cake with buttercream filling and a homemade fondant recipe.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio6V3TC1uSakOBexEtohrMxgsleSkSX2q78IkSumo3JlDkC5QjAnjuDVhA-_Z5IkeCjzW-J2f15_exoxgUOJVOhipfRSwlreXWMItzYuMGxGr4VUWrKTMhnrqaibcurpUe9p9skS9IP0Q/s1600-h/2008-10-21-62530.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378561549931991122" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio6V3TC1uSakOBexEtohrMxgsleSkSX2q78IkSumo3JlDkC5QjAnjuDVhA-_Z5IkeCjzW-J2f15_exoxgUOJVOhipfRSwlreXWMItzYuMGxGr4VUWrKTMhnrqaibcurpUe9p9skS9IP0Q/s320/2008-10-21-62530.jpg" /></a> The skills this cake features are fondant roses, inlays, and a twisted fondant rope.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif1q342zBekXLkFlMPdU8cQII_wvFnsvepXKJFvIRZwB_mJ2_znW7u_FcOywhVuM1OQPwc1az8dpWqjjURY9di4uMP7q9FVAJa8TgPi3bsICK9hkb9zz0zQ_3oOw39E9QkQCYZflt19pw/s1600-h/2008-10-21-62538.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5378561540572884738" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif1q342zBekXLkFlMPdU8cQII_wvFnsvepXKJFvIRZwB_mJ2_znW7u_FcOywhVuM1OQPwc1az8dpWqjjURY9di4uMP7q9FVAJa8TgPi3bsICK9hkb9zz0zQ_3oOw39E9QkQCYZflt19pw/s320/2008-10-21-62538.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05834949571391148642noreply@blogger.com0
